ING Life supports the community through sponsorship and charitable donations. ING Life benefits from sponsoring through publicity, opportunities for relationship marketing and greater brand awareness.
In June 2005, in conjunction with UNICEF, the Group launched a worldwide community development plan called Chances for Children. The objective of this programme is to provide 115,000 children with access to schooling, and to involve ING employees worldwide with the project through donations or volunteer service opportunities.
Launched by the Hong Kong Council of Social Services in 2002, ING Life has won the "Caring Company Award" continuously for more than five years. In recognition of our sustained efforts, we have been bestowed the "Caring Company - 5 Years Plus Award".
This award is to recognise those companies that demonstrate good corporate citizenship and provide concrete support to the community and charity services. The awarded company should meet at least two of the six criteria - volunteering, employee friendly, employing vulnerable, caring for the environment, mentoring and giving.
