Increasing Insurance Needs

Hong Kong has had outbreaks of infectious diseases in recent years, such as H1N1, the SARS and avian flu, all of which have raised the public awareness of the importance of protection. The ageing population and declining birth rate coupled with the inadequacy of MPF, have resulted in the needs for a comprehensive protection.

According to the Census and Statistics Department, Hong Kong has a rapidly ageing population, with the proportion of people aged 65 and above increasing tremendously by 2039 . The main working-age population will decrease, which not only reduce government revenue, but also add to the burden of more financial provision for the aged . Thus, people must get prepared for their financial planning to protect their future.
