Press Release

ING's "Crisis Ease" Matches Clients' Health Needs
With Easy Premium and Comprehensive Protection

ING Life has newly launched a crisis illness insurance plan, Crisis Ease, featuring low premium entry and a wide coverage of serious diseases. This plan hedges against up to 54 critical illnesses including ten special diseases and provides two policy term options of up to the age of 80 and 100. Further value-added services under the plan, such as revival privilege and second medical opinion service by overseas professional networks, help take a step closer to well-planned protection with tailored choices and budgets.

To ease the financial stress associated with the risk of critical illnesses, Crisis Ease is specially designed with a low and level premium – as low as HK$7.48 per day to put one's mind at rest with regard to their health. The plan also offers flexibility to address the needs of different clients through the provision of two premium payment and policy terms, "Crisis Ease 80" and "Crisis Ease 100", offering protection right up to the age of 80 and 100 respectively. This takes into account both the needs of those who want lifelong security against critical illnesses, no matter what age they may strike as well as those who want to think ahead as far as the age of 80. Thus, peace of mind is provided totally according to one's own preference. The minimum insured sum of the plan is HK$120,000 while the maximum is HK$4,000,000.

Besides easy premium arrangement, Crisis Ease offers substantial protection by covering 54 serious diseases, among which, 44 basic crisis illnesses are included plus an additional ten special diseases consisting of Angioplasty and 8 female- and male-specific Carcinoma-in-Situ. In the event of the unfortunate diagnosis of one of these special diseases, an advance lump sum payment of 20% of the sum insured will be dispatched, subject to a maximum of HK$240,000.

Moreover, an enhanced feature of the plan is its revival privilege which gives real peace of mind to policyholders. Even if clients have been diagnosed with a critical illness under the plan and received a Crisis Benefit, they are still allowed to revive the coverage one year after diagnosis. For "Crisis Ease 100", there is the added extra of a termination benefit after the tenth year, with maximum 95% of the annual premium to be paid back if clients terminate the plan. The termination benefit will equal the coverage amount by the time clients reach the age of 100.

With its new launch, if they successfully apply for Crisis Ease before 31 October 2009, clients are entitled to a HK$100 health food cash coupon. An extra HK$200 health food cash coupon will be rewarded if applying for Crisis Ease and MediPro 100 at the same time.
