Fredua Koranteng "Freddy" Adu was born in the port city of Tema in Ghana, and moved to U.S.A with his family when he was eight, becoming a U.S. citizen in 2003. Soon after arriving in the United States, he was discovered by a local soccer coach and began playing with boys several years older than himself. While playing in an under-14 tournament in 2000 against the traditionally strong youth squads such as Lazio (Rome) and Juventus, Freddy's team won the competition, With Adu named MVP on the back of his ranking as the tournaments leading goal-scorer. Here, Adu was noticed by Italian football clubs, including Inter Milan, who discussed a six-figure offer for him that was turned down by his mother on the advice of his agents. He was only 10 years old at that time.
Adu has played for the United States in four international tournaments: the 2003 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Finland, the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship in the United Arab Emirates, the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in the Netherlands, and the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada.
He currently plays for Benfica and was the youngest American athlete in over 100 years to sign a major-league pro contract and the tender age of 14.

Josmer "Jozy" Volmy Altidore was originally made his professional debut on 23 August, 2006 as a substitute in a 3-1 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup loss to D.C. United. He scored his first professional goal at the age of 16, blasting an 83rd minute, 28-yard shot to beat Columbus 1-0 September 16, 2006. Exactly one week later, on September 23, 2006 in a 4-3 loss to rivals D.C. United, Altidore scored again.
Scoring three times in seven appearances, including a crucial goal against the Chicago Fire on September 30 2006, Altidore became a fan favorite. He also scored the Red Bulls' only goal of their 2-1 aggregate loss to D.C. United in the Eastern Conference Semifinals Series when he headed in a cross in the second leg. With that goal, he became the youngest player to score in the MLS playoffs at 16 years, 337 days (breaking DaMarcus Beasley's record by almost three years). Altidore was also youngest to start in an MLS playoff match on October 21 against D.C. United (16 years, 349 days). He also scored 2 goals in a 5-4 win over LA Galaxy on August 18, 2007. As of May 30th 2008, Altidore has made seven appearances for Red Bull New York in the 2008 season, scoring three times and registering one assist.
Altidore appeared on the international stage in 2005 in the FIFA U-17 World Championship, and was subsequently capped in the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. In November 2007, he received his first senior cap and on his third appearance went on to score his first goal against Mexico.
In early June 2008, Jozy was transferred to Spanish club Villarreal for an American record transfer fee of $10,000,000.

Born and raised in Arlington Heights, a suburb of Chicago, Spector moved to England at the age of 17 to join Manchester United in 2003 after starting his professional career with the Chicago Sockers that same year. He made his senior debut just a year later, in the Community Shield against Arsenal at the Millennium Stadium. He went on to make seven league and cup appearances for Sir Alex Ferguson's side in the 2004/05 campaign, including two in the Champions League. A year later, he was loaned out to Charlton Athletic to get more first team experience and eventually ended his tenure with ManU following the transfer to West Ham in June 2006.
His international career meanwhile continued apace since his first cap in November 2004 with Spector regularly turning out for the U.S. senior side. He also played his part as the Under-23s to secure the spot at the Beijing Olympics, by winning 3-0 against Canada in March 2008.
